Generator rental for events

An event without power is not an event. Whether it is a festival in a city park, an outdoor trade show on an industrial site, an open-air concert or a temporary event at a location without a grid connection: the power supply determines whether the program runs. Volta Energy delivers 3-in-1 mobile energy systems that take care of it. Silent, clean and fully managed.

Reliable sustainable power for every event

More and more event organisers, venue managers and production companies are looking for an alternative to the diesel generator. Municipalities impose emission requirements. Park managers and local residents complain about noise. Clients and commissioning parties expect a sustainable operation. A diesel generator no longer fits that picture.

A Volta does. Our 3-in-1 mobile energy systems combine solar panels, smart batteries and a biofuel backup in one. Silent in standard operation. 94% less CO₂ production on average compared to a conventional diesel generator. Ready to deploy at any location, without a grid connection.

How does it work?

A Volta is plug-and-play. We deliver, install and verify operation. You connect your equipment. After that, the system runs itself: during the day the solar panels charge the battery, the battery powers the event. When capacity falls short, the biofuel backup kicks in automatically. No buttons to press, no refuelling to organise, nothing to think about.

We monitor every system 24/7 remotely and handle all fuel management. If anything needs attention, we know before you do.

For which events is a Volta suitable?

A Volta is deployable for any event that needs power at a location without a fixed grid connection, or where a silent and clean energy solution is required. Common applications include outdoor festivals and open-air concerts, markets and street fairs on squares or in parks, temporary trade shows and exhibitions, on-location sporting events, film productions and outdoor shoots, and community events and municipal activities in public spaces.

For smaller events with a low power demand, our compact models are the right choice. For larger festivals with high power requirements distributed across multiple stages and exhibitors, we supply more powerful solutions up to 108 kW peak output. We advise based on your specific programme and power requirements.

Proven in the field: Hoogte 80 Festival

At the Hoogte 80 Festival in Arnhem, Volta Energy supplied one 15 kVA and two 45 kVA solar systems across a challenging hilly park site. The result over three days: 2,096 kg CO₂ saved and €446 in fuel cost savings compared to conventional generators. The organiser returned for the next event.

Silent enough for every event

A conventional diesel generator at an open-air concert or in a city park is a problem. Noise levels of 80 to 100 dB compete with the programme and generate complaints from local residents. A Volta runs silently in standard operation. Only when the backup is active there is noise: a maximum of 60 to 63 dB(A) at 7 metres. And the backup only activates when it is genuinely needed.

For the most noise-sensitive situations, such as classical concerts, film screenings or events in residential areas, the Volta ZERO series is the right choice. With a fuel cell as backup, the system is whisper-quiet at every moment of the day.

Clean enough for every permit

Events in parks, nature areas or urban environments are increasingly subject to emission requirements as a condition of their permit. Municipalities and provincial authorities set limits on CO₂, nitrogen and particulate matter at temporary event sites. A Volta meets those requirements with room to spare. Our systems achieve an average of more than 94% CO₂ reduction compared to a conventional diesel generator. On models with a fuel cell as backup, the system is fully nitrogen-free and particulate-free.

That not only makes it easier to obtain a permit, but also to keep it for repeat editions of the same event.

Fully managed through Energy-as-a-Service

With Volta Energy, you rent more than hardware. Delivery and transport to site, installation and commissioning, fuel management, maintenance and 24/7 remote monitoring are all included in one all-in price. At the end of the event, we collect everything.

You organise the event. We make sure the power is always there.

FAQ: sustainable power for events and festivals

  • What is the best power solution for an outdoor event without a grid connection?
A 3-in-1 mobile energy system combining solar panels, battery storage and a biofuel backup is the most reliable solution. It operates fully off-grid, runs silently in standard operation and requires no on-site management. Volta Energy handles delivery, fuel and monitoring as part of its Energy-as-a-Service model.
  • How much CO₂ does a solar event generator save compared to diesel?
Voltas achieve an average CO₂ reduction of more than 90% compared to conventional diesel generators. At the Hoogte 80 Festival in Arnhem, three Voltas saved 2,096 kg of CO₂ over three days.
  • Is a solar generator quiet enough for an outdoor concert or film screening?
Yes. A Volta runs completely silently in standard operation because the system runs primarily on solar and battery. When the backup activates, the maximum noise level is 60 to 63 dB(A) at 7 metres. For the most noise-sensitive events, the Volta ZERO series with a fuel cell backup is whisper-quiet at all times.
  • Does a Volta meet the emission requirements for event permits?
Yes. Our systems achieve more than 90% less CO₂ and significantly less nitrogen compared to conventional diesel generators. Models with a fuel cell backup are fully nitrogen-free and particulate-free, making them compliant with the strictest municipal and provincial emission requirements.
  • What type of Volta does an event need?
That depends on the power demand of the event: the number of stages, exhibitors, catering units and technical installations. Our smallest models start from 150 W continuous output; our largest reach 108 kW peak. We advise based on your specific programme and power requirements.
  • Who handles the fuel during a multi-day event?
We do. Fuel management is fully included in our Energy-as-a-Service model. We monitor fuel levels remotely and arrange replenishment before it is ever needed. You never need to organise fuel logistics yourself.
