Power supply for mobile camera security

Mobile security systems stand or fall on one thing: a reliable power supply. Surveillance systems at locations without a grid connection need an energy solution that simply works. Always. No refuelling, no failures, no hassle. Volta Energy is the energy partner for camera surveillance companies that want exactly that, without ever having to think about it.

Always on, even in remote locations

Mobile security cameras are deployed where there's no fixed grid connection. A Volta operates fully off-grid and delivers continuous power to any surveillance system. On any site, operational immediately.

Silent by default

Camera surveillance on public sites, in residential areas or on construction sites demands a quiet energy solution. A Volta runs completely silently in standard operation. No noise that compromises the site or your client relationship.

Reliable, regardless the weather conditions

A security system that fails due to a power outage is no longer a security system. The combination of solar panels, smart batteries and a biofuel backup guarantees uninterrupted power delivery, day and night, in any weather.

No refuelling, no failures, no hassle

We monitor every system remotely and handle all fuel management. You install the security system. We make sure the power is always there.

Every camera surveillance company is up against this challenge.

Mobile security cameras are deployed where oversight is most needed. That's rarely where a grid connection is available. Remote locations, temporary projects, active construction sites, and unoccupied property. The locations that need surveillance are precisely the locations where connecting to the grid is mostly impossible or impractical.

The default solution is a diesel generator or a standalone battery. Both have limitations that camera surveillance companies deal with daily. A diesel generator is noisy, requires constant refuelling and becomes a logistical problem on remote sites. A standalone battery has limited autonomy and needs regular replacement or on-site recharging. Neither delivers the continuous, unattended power supply that professional camera surveillance requires.

On top of that, clients are raising the bar. Municipalities and construction companies now expect quiet, clean energy solutions on site. Emission standards are tightening. And camera surveillance companies managing multiple sites simultaneously face a growing operational burden: refuelling, maintenance, troubleshooting. All across dispersed locations.

The power supply is the bottleneck. Volta Energy solves it.

Our solution

A Volta is a reliable 3-in-1 mobile energy system combining solar panels, smart batteries and a biofuel backup in one compact, mobile system. The power profile is a perfect match for surveillance applications: low continuous consumption, high reliability and long-term deployment without intervention.

During the day, the solar panels charge the battery. The battery delivers continuous power to the mobile surveillance system, including at night. If the battery runs low, the biofuel backup kicks in automatically and shuts off again once the battery is back at level. The system manages itself entirely: no manual actions, no one needed on site.

For sites in low-emission zones, urban environments or areas with nitrogen restrictions, the Volta ZERO series is the right choice. With a fuel cell as backup, the system is fully nitrogen-free, particulate-free and whisper-quiet at any time of day. Ideal for surveillance projects where noise and emissions are simply not an option.

What are the practical benefits?

For CCTV security applications, our systems achieve the following average results compared to a conventional diesel generator:

  • 97% reduction in CO₂ emissions on average per project.
  • 81% reduction in fuel consumption on average per project.
  • 91% reduction in nitrogen oxide emissions on average per project.

Completely silent in normal operation. Only the backup unit produces noise when absolutely necessary, and even then no more than 60 dB(A) at a distance of 7 metres. The Volta ZERO is even completely odourless and whisper-quiet.

For one site or dozens at once

Volta Energy delivers for both single surveillance projects and camera surveillance companies managing dozens of sites simultaneously. Through our Energy-as-a-Service model, you manage all sites with one point of contact, centralised monitoring and a transparent all-in price per system.

We monitor every system individually, remotely. Consumption, battery status and system performance are visible in real time per site. Issues are flagged and resolved before the surveillance goes down. You manage the security systems. We guard the energy.

We make sure it never runs out of power.

You secure, we power.

Your security can never go down. Ready to enjoy more reliable and sustainable mobile energy?

Frequently Asked Questions about our solution for camera surveillance

  • How does a Volta ensure continuous power for security cameras without a grid connection?
A Volta combines solar panels, a smart battery pack and a biofuel backup in one system. During the day, the solar panels charge the battery. The battery powers the surveillance system, including at night. If the battery runs low, the backup kicks in automatically. The system delivers 24/7, fully automatically.
  • Is a Volta suitable for long-term camera surveillance projects?
Yes. Our systems are designed for long-term, unattended use. Fuel management and maintenance are fully included in our Energy as a Service model. We ensure timely replenishment so the system never stops, even on remote sites.
  • Can I run multiple surveillance sites simultaneously through Volta Energy?
Yes. Volta Energy specifically serves camera surveillance companies managing multiple sites at once. We monitor all systems centrally and remotely. You get real-time visibility per site; we handle any issues.
  • Is a Volta quieter than a diesel generator?
In standard operation, a Volta is completely silent. the system runs primarily on solar and battery. Sound only occurs when the backup is active: a maximum of 60 dB(A) at 7 metres. For sites where noise is not an option at any point, our fuel cell models are whisper-quiet at all times.
  • Does a Volta meet emission requirements for surveillance in low-emission zones?
Our systems achieve an average of 97% less CO₂ and 91% less nitrogen compared to a conventional diesel generator. For sites in low-emission zones or nitrogen-restricted areas, models with a fully nitrogen-free and particulate-free fuel cell are available.
  • Who manages fuel on remote sites?
We do. Fuel management is fully included in our Energy as a Service model. We track fuel levels through remote monitoring and arrange timely replenishment. You never need to refuel yourself or send a technician to site for an empty tank.
