The Volta ZERO combines three technologies in a single system: solar panels, a battery and a fuel cell. It draws its energy from two sources: the sun and biofuel. It supplies power 24 hours a day: during the day, at night, when it’s cloudy and during peak loads.
1. Solar panels: electricity from sunlight
The sun is the Volta ZERO primary energy source. The solar panels convert sunlight into electricity and use it to charge the battery, even in cloudy weather. The Volta ZERO is silent and has low emissions at all times.
2. Battery: power 24 hours a day
The electricity generated is stored in a smart battery pack. This supplies your project with power at any time of day, even when the sun isn’t shining.
3. Fuel cell: reliable backup
Should the stored power ever prove insufficient, the fuel cell switches on automatically. It converts the biofuel (methanol or bio-propane) into electricity, entirely without combustion. There is no internal combustion engine, no soot and no noise. As soon as the battery is sufficiently recharged, the fuel cell switches itself off.
Intelligently controlled: completely automatic
The three technologies work together seamlessly. The fuel cell only kicks in when it’s really needed and switches off again as soon as the battery is back up to the required level. The result: maximum power from solar energy, minimal biofuel consumption and a continuously stable power supply for your project. We also monitor this process remotely; you won’t even notice it. That’s what we call Energy as a Service.

In the Volta ZERO, the backup is not a combustion engine. It is a fuel cell that only activates when solar and battery output is insufficient and shuts off as soon as it is no longer needed. Fully automatic, completely silent and with zero nitrogen or particulate emissions.
These models are fully whisper-quiet in operation, including when the backup is active. That makes the Volta ZERO the right choice for urban environments, sites near residential areas, areas with low-emission zones or projects subject to emission or nitrogen restrictions.
