Meet the Volta 2 ZERO

The Volta 2 ZERO is our most compact 3-in-1 mobile energy system, developed for low-power applications at locations without a grid connection where reliability, silence and emission-free operation are essential. The system combines solar panels, a battery and a propane fuel cell as backup in one compact integrated system.

Whisper-quiet. Nitrogen-free. Autonomous for weeks.

The Volta 2 ZERO is our smallest and quietest energy solution. Developed specifically for applications with a low continuous power draw where 100% reliability is non-negotiable. With an average continuous output of 150 Watts, a peak output of 2,400 Watts and low-emission operation.

Completely whisper-quiet. Nitrogen-free. Particulate-free. CO₂ compensated.

Whisper-quiet in operation

including when the propane fuel cell is active.

Nitrogen-free and particulate-free

no combustion, no local emissions.

CO₂ compensated

minimal climate impact.

Ideal for long-term projects

compact, autonomous and without any management required.

Volta: 3-in-1 mobile energy system

The Volta 2 ZERO combines three technologies that work seamlessly together, controlled by smart software.

1. Solar panels
The amorphous solar panels generate energy during the day and charge the batteries. They continue to produce energy even in cloudy or rainy weather. The Volta 2 ZERO operates completely silently and with low emissions at all times.

2. The battery
The 7.2 kWh LiFePO4 battery stores the generated energy and supplies power at any time of day, continuously even when the sun isn’t shining.

3. Bio-propane fuel cell
Is the capacity insufficient, the bio-propane fuel cell automatically kicks in. A fuel cell operates electrochemically: no combustion, no internal combustion engine, no noise. Bio-propane is converted directly into electricity. The result: a backup that is completely silent, emits no nitrogen or particulate matter, and is CO₂-compensated. The fuel cell switches off automatically as soon as the system is self-sufficient again.

The three technologies work together continuously. The system monitors itself and is monitored remotely by the Volta Energy team.

  • What is the continuous output of the Volta 2 ZERO?
The continuous output of the Volta 2 ZERO is an average of 150 Watts. Peak output is 2,400 Watts. This model is specifically developed for applications with a low but constant power draw, such as camera surveillance, traffic management systems, barriers and measurement equipment.
  • What is the difference between the Volta 2 ZERO and the Volta 15 ZERO?
Both models are 3-in-1 mobile energy systems with a fuel cell as backup. The difference lies in the power output and the fuel cell type. The Volta 2 ZERO has a continuous output of 150 Watts and uses propane as fuel. The Volta 15 ZERO has a continuous output of 1.8 kW and uses methanol. The Volta 2 ZERO is the right choice for low-power applications that need to run autonomously over an extended period.
  • For which applications is the Volta 2 ZERO suitable?
The Volta 2 ZERO is suitable for applications with a continuous power draw of up to 150 Watts. Common applications include camera surveillance with router (60 to 120 Watts), traffic management systems and VRI installations, barriers, measurement equipment and traffic monitoring columns. Mobile lighting with a draw above 200 Watts is not suitable for this model.
  • How quiet is the Volta 2 ZERO?
The Volta 2 ZERO is completely whisper-quiet at every moment of the day. Even when the propane fuel cell is active, the system produces no combustion noise. That makes it ideal for urban environments, sites near residential areas, nature reserves or projects subject to noise standards.
  • Is the Volta 2 ZERO suitable for low-emission zones or nitrogen-sensitive areas?
Yes. The Volta 2 ZERO is fully nitrogen-free and particulate-free, making it suitable for the most emission-sensitive environments, including low-emission zones, Natura 2000 areas and areas with active nitrogen restrictions.
  • Does the Volta 2 ZERO work in bad weather or at night?
Yes. The combination of the battery pack and propane fuel cell ensures continuous power delivery, 24 hours a day, regardless of weather conditions.

Low power demand, but 100% reliable. That is the Volta 2 ZERO.
