Hannover-Langenhagen airport renovation: sustainable and efficient

Innovation and sustainability were central to the runway renovation at Hannover-Langenhagen Airport.

Matthäi Bauunternehmen GmbH & Co. KG chose our Volta, a reliable 3-in-1 mobile energy system, which powered the entire renovation from mid-April to mid-June, without excessive diesel use.

Thanks to this smart combination of solar power and battery storage, work continued smoothly and sustainably throughout the project.

Specific details for this project

  • Power supply
  • 80% less diesel use
  • 45 kVA hybrid Volta
  • 97% CO₂ reduction

Concrete results

The numbers show clearly how effective the Volta was:

  • 80% less diesel use, a saving of 1,670 liters
  • 1,067 kWh generated from solar power
  • 89% of total energy use came from solar and battery
  • 334 fewer hours of backup engine use compared to traditional generators
  • 97% CO₂ reduction compared to a standard diesel generator, thanks in part to the use of HVO100

With these results, the project wasn't just cleaner, but also quieter and more cost-efficient.

Working smarter: sustainable power on the construction site

This customer case shows that sustainable construction isn't a future ambition, it's happening now. By deploying 3-in-1 mobile energy systems strategically, any construction project can cut diesel use, lower costs, and drastically reduce CO₂ emissions.
