Meet the Volta 15

The Volta 15 is a 3-in-1 mobile energy system, developed for construction sites, telecom cell tower locations and infrastructure projects without a grid connection. The system combines solar panels, a battery pack and a backup generator in one integrated system.

Quiet in sound. Thundering achievements.

The Volta 15 is our most widely deployed model. A proven 3-in-1 mobile energy system for construction sites, telecom cell tower locations and infrastructure projects where reliable power is non-negotiable. With a continuous output of 3 kW and a peak output of 12 kW. Day and night, summer and winter, sun or rain.

An average of 95% less CO₂. An average of 67% less fuel. Power, always.

95% average CO₂ reduction

compared to a conventional diesel generator.

67% average fuel saving

compared to a conventional diesel generator.

Silent in standard operation

When the HVO100 backup is active: 63 dB(A) at 7 metres.

Up to 72 kWh per 24 hours

of available energy.

Volta: 3-in-1 mobile energy system

The Volta 15 combines three technologies that work seamlessly together, controlled by smart software.

1. Solar panels
The amorphous solar panels generate energy during the day and charge the batteries. They continue to produce energy even in cloudy or rainy weather.

2. The battery
The 31.2 kWh LiFePO4 battery stores the generated energy and supplies power at any time of day, continuously even when the sun isn’t shining.

3. HVO100 Combustion Engine
Is the capacity insufficient, the 20 kVA Stage V HVO100 generator automatically kicks in. It charges the batteries in up to two hours and switches off automatically as soon as the system is self-sufficient again. HVO100 is a 100% renewable, fossil-free fuel that emits up to 85% less CO₂ than regular diesel.

The three technologies work together continuously. The system monitors itself and is monitored remotely by the Volta Energy team.

  • What is the continuous output of the Volta 15?
The recommended continuous output of the Volta 15 is 3 kW. Peak output is 12 kW.
  • How much CO₂ does the Volta 15 save compared to a diesel generator?
An average of 95% less CO₂ compared to a conventional diesel generator. This is the average result realised across live projects.
  • Is the Volta 15 suitable for a telecom cell tower location?
Yes. A standard telecom tower with a power demand of  2.5 kW is well served by the Volta 15. The system operates fully off-grid, without a grid connection.
  • Does the Volta 15 work in bad weather or at night?
Yes. The combination of the battery pack and HVO100 backup ensures continuous power delivery, 24 hours a day, regardless of weather conditions. The amorphous solar panels also deliver output in overcast conditions.
  • Is the Volta 15 quieter than a diesel generator?
In standard operation, the Volta 15 is completely silent, because the system runs primarily on solar and battery. When the HVO100 backup is active, the noise level is 63 dB(A) at 7 metres. A conventional diesel generator typically produces 70 to 90 dB(A), around the clock.
  • How large is the Volta 15?
    Folded, the Volta 15 measures 5.65 x 2.2 x 2.7 metres (L x W x H). Unfolded, that is 5.65 x 4.0 x 3.0 metres. Total weight is 2,000 kg. The Volta 15 is towable as a trailer.
  • How is the Volta 15 monitored?
Volta Energy monitors the Volta 15 remotely via our remote monitoring platform. Consumption, generation, battery status and system performance are visible in real time. Any deviations are flagged and handled by the Volta Energy support team.
