The results
In the end, the Volta Energy Model 15 kVa ran for 34 days alongside a diesel generator and a VO B100. In this, the solar generator consumed only 120 litres of diesel in an emergency, where the other two consumed over 3,200 litres. During the pilot period, the solar generator generated as much as 254 kWh of renewable energy through the solar system, where 303 kWh were consumed. In total, this saved over €2,200 compared to the two conventional generators.
In addition to the significant savings, the use of the solar aggregate was also perceived positively by the workmen. A nice environmental gain was also achieved. Indeed, compared to the conventional diesel generator, the solar generator saved over 10,000 kg in CO2 emissions and almost 15 kg in NOx emissions. Also compared to the HVO B100, over 1,000 kg of CO2 and 15kg of NOx were emitted less. In addition, more than 3,000 litres of diesel were saved. All in all, a positive pilot of the 15 kVa solar generator for Van Hoek Bouw BV.
