The results
92% of the electricity for this construction project was generated sustainably. A total of 278 kWh was consumed on the Barneveld construction site during the measured period in August. The PV systems of the generator provided the generation of no less than 256 kWh for this, which means that 92% of the electricity consumed was generated completely sustainably and free of charge. Thanks to the battery pack, the biodiesel aggregate needed only 18 running hours in this month as a backup for the solar aggregate, consuming 88 liters of diesel, a saving of 98% compared to a conventional aggregate. Now that’s efficient work!
Thanks to the combination of the 15 kVA solar genset and the efficient battery pack, Van Gelder managed to save β¬263 compared to using a conventional diesel genset. Compared to an HBO B100 biodiesel aggregate, savings were even over β¬500. In addition, 3717.34 kg less CO2 and 3.77 kg less NOx was emitted.
At Volta Energy we are of course very pleased with this result, proving once again that a solar generator really is the future for many locations where a generator is needed. Van Gelder said it hopes to realize similar savings at more locations in the future, as the equipment works many times more efficiently than the conventional diesel generator.
