During the realization of an infrastructure project in Nijmegen, a conventional diesel aggregate was used as power supply. Because camera security was applied, the generator had to run 24/7. This resulted in a number of complaints in the residential area.

The objective was to allow the building contractor to use a solar and battery powered energy solution at the same cost. By cost, we mean the rental of the diesel generator including the diesel consumed. This outcome would eliminate the need for the diesel generator on the construction site. By achieving this, there would be no more nuisance (smell and noise) in the neighborhood. As well as huge diesel savings. This solution provides a big perk in the procurement process and would mean that more and more procurers (cities) are asking this of their construction contractors.
A sustainable solution was needed. The continuous running of the diesel generator caused inconvenience and stench. This needed a green alternative to counteract the complaints. Volta Energy’s Solar Generator was the ultimate solution. The running time could be reduced and there was no longer any nuisance in the neighborhood.
The average savings are: €208, 422 kg Co2 and 681 grams of nitrogen per week. This reduction in emissions, nuisance and diesel consumption increases the chances of realizing more projects like this one.
The 15 kVA Solar Generator provides its energy through its 28.8 kWh large battery pack combined with 2.64 kWp of solar panels. The inverters are programmed in 3-phase 400V 3x32A configuration to supply a total of 15 kVA. There is also a Biodiesel backup generator in the system for emergency use which can automatically step in should the need arise.
Besides the 15 kVA, capacities of 6 (1x32A), 45 (3x63A) and 120 kVA (6x80A) are also available.
The power generators come in different sizes - from 6 kVA to 120 kVA - so that all construction sites and events can be supplied with renewable energy on site. Our bio-solar-hybrid generators are more sustainable than conventional diesel generators and hybrid diesel-battery generators. When the sun is not shining, our generators automatically switch from solar to battery and then to bio-diesel genset. This way, we make sure you always have power..
